"The Little Red Haired Girl"

"The Little Red Haired Girl"

A Poem by Cody Williams

“The Little Red Haired Girl”

By Cody Williams

I heard her from the other side of the door

Her laughter and joy

It was the sound of the little red haired girl

I arose from my bed

And bumped my head

I slipped on my house shoes and walked to the door

I placed my hand on the doorknob

And opened it

I stuck out my head

And there she stood

She smiled at me proudly

And bent down

She picked up her big red ball

And skipped down the hall

She stopped

She turned

She smiled

And then she disappeared into the darkness

It seems fairly obvious to me that the little red haired girl was a ghost.

Either that, or you have wandered too close to the Peanuts Dimension...
If that's the case, Charlie Brown and Linus will be along shortly...don't let them frighten you...especially Linus, with his eerie little piano...

I came across a similar imagery of experience some time ago. Believe it or not I found its relation to the world ... and the way women have a tendency to associate creation with childbirth. It denotes an attitude of being fixed in their view and when she left you may have found yourself more physically active and creative.

I think this is a very good piece of writing, especially if you really aren't a poet. It has a bit of mystery and suspense to it, and kind of leaves you to let your imagination freak you out for a while. Great job!

It's very nice. Simple but good, you can see everything your wrote its very clear and a little hunting not in the sense of a ghost or horror but more it haunts you wanting more. Wanting questions answered, like who is this little girl? why does she smile? Is this your house or a place the person speaking fell upon to and seem to never get out from? A very nice poem though, thank you, keep writing!!

Spooky; I would have a problem with seeing people; I mean, well, you know what I mean!
