The Renegade Continued

The Renegade Continued

A Poem by Vertigo Cat1111
"

Just a happy sequel and callback to one of my first poems.

"
The renegade was an outlaw

But the years passed
And no longer is he blinded by the fortune and popularity he sought

We found a loophole
Both of us turned into a villian for a short while
Coulda swore you sold your soul
But remembering the feeling of rain down a pixie cut
Echoes of an abandoned chamber calling
I knew this was the right thing

Every night, late train
Not quite as loud as my pain

The golden coast
Denied I loved it the most

I've never felt this relief
The aches are unknotted and gone
I can finally sleep

When everything was it's darkest
I still thought of you
Every night in my dreams
You were there
And now we're here

I'm no longer alone

New year and clean rain and blurry dreams

Stardust came back to me

I'm coming home.

Author's Note

Vertigo Cat1111
I didn't think I'd ever write a happy sequel to one of my first and favorite poems, but here we are. I'm really happy with it, and keep an eye out for my upcoming story on this site soon! Most of my poetry is all based around that universe, and I hope your keeping safe and doing alright during this time. Don't forget to stay hydrated and take care of yourself!

In most cases, a couple enjoys a long relationship only becuz they are determined to make it thru those messy years when things feel crummy half the time. Sometimes we find out that being lovers was a mistake but we can't let go of being friends. Or maybe we have to re-define a relationship a few times over the years. This poem conveys the comfort we find with a person once we hack thru all the brambles of misplaced expectations (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Sounds like a journey through life with its ups and downs chasing after money to realize it wasn’t what you were after it was love all along. Just my thoughts

Many people become renegades, I guess to figure out their lives, futures, but inevitable they return to "normalcy" because it's hard to not be in love . It's such a relief!!!
Great!

Love the journey and style of your prose. There comes a time in every writers’ path of which they find themselves wishing that they had written a line from a work of art; this is one of those times for me .... ‘echoes of an abandoned chamber calling’ and ‘new year and clean rain and blurry dreams’ .... simply sublime and astounding. .....

be safe xo

This made me smile. Listening to a certain band fit perfectly at the time.

"Every night, late train

Love that line.

'stardust cane back to me'. A happy finale Colacat. I like those endings best of all. This poem took me on your journey, through a troublesome and painful dark period. The train is now out of the dark tunnel. How content that must make you. Well worth persevering I would say. Good to read you.
