Apple Core

A Poem by Vertigo Cat1111
"

‘I jumped the fence when I was seventeen’- Phoebe Bridgers

"
It all sounded so over fascinated. With words we’d pretend to say, worms we’d pretend to eat, and lives we’d pretend to choose!

Alot said in this brevity. Make believe played a huge part in my childhood. We didn't have much so I used to pretend I was a Princess and dressed up in net curtains. Pretending to eat worms I find funny.

Pretending, in a way, is escaping reality. I did it so much as a child, as my mom lacked the skills for attention. This poem has so much in it, it's remarkable how you can create big meanings with so few words. Excellent.

Reminds me of my childhood... a life of make-believe, and pretending to eat worms, just to impress our friends!
