mind

mind

A Poem by Daniel Atkinson
"

Anxiety

"
jabbering meddling rabble rousing mind
I am eternal
I am scared
I am scratched & scarred
I am twisting pulling hair eyes spewing
tears crow's feet shining wet
heart pumps kicks me
is hot scampers in fire
burns blood fries brain
I can't think I can only fear I can't think I can only fear

I AM LOSING MY MIND BETWEEN PAINTED WALLS

when I sleep I dream of fear & when I don't
I stare at the dark & feel my body decay & lessen & shrink
I stand in the morning put my feet on a cold floor
and move through static heat of day

my mind doesn't sleep my mind
my mind screams it screams for me
it screams.

A harrowing example of what it's like to deal with anxiety. Very well done my friend.
