Fall

A Poem by Colton Warr

As a brown and crinkled leaf does

I fall to you

And as a hopeless romantic does

I give my all to you

As a young child does

I crawl to you

And as a lost soul does

I call to you

As this air turns from warm to cold

All I need is you to hold

As a broker in their prime

To you, my heart is sold

As these colors around me change

All I need is for you to breathe my name

As a million dollar song

To you, I owe my fame

As these holidays become more festive

All I need is your best, then best it

As a dream inside of my head

To you, I have invested

As these clouds begin to precipitate in the sky

All I need is you by my side

As an addict takes another dose

To me, you can give your eyes

As a brown and crinkled leaf does

I fall to you

And as a hopeless romantic does

I give my all to you

As a young child does

I crawl to you

And as a lost soul does

I call to you

My heart

Don’t tear it apart

About you since the start

So funny, beautiful, sexy and smart

I was so afraid to do this, so afraid to restart

So please take my hand, hold me tight, I don’t ever want you to depart

You’re the reason for this change in my weather

As the leaves do the summer, you’re the one I miss

Perhaps I am a leaf, how could I fall like this

If there are others, like a snake I will hiss

You are my intimacy, my kiss

I want to reminisce

My bliss

Colton Warr,
What lyrical Autumn theme of connectedness with the theme of change. Yes, with summer coming to an end in some weeks now this poem has a feel of change and the hope for a future within life. It is a song of love which is definitely a committed one and simply brave. Honest and up front..I like it!

This is what I say a splendid read! No force on flow yet smoothly conveying what it wants to convey....I was happy to read this since the first line...
Honestly, I had thought of a poem that will be relating the fall like a common way or how mostly we use seasons to relate with our life....but you stunned me and proved total wrong! This one is far better than that...

This poem is mesmerizing. For one cannot stop, until every last word is read. I cannot tell you enough of how brilliant your poems are. I will work hard to rival your epic writer skills. For you are the new embodiment of pure talent and epicness. I will stay your fan, for one cannot leave such a great writer as you. I hope that the thoughts of stopping your writing career will never cross your mind because your writing must grow in this world of us.
