"Amore Bruciante"

"Amore Bruciante"

A Poem by Ariadne Grey
"

Gaslighted to melt in the fire.

"
" Play with fire and you'll get burned
Touch the flames; a lesson learned
A pain so deep, an ache so sweet
Brand my skin with every meet
Of lips that steal every ounce of breath
And fingers that char every inch of chest
Fuel the passions with fumes of lust
Engulf thy being thrust by thrust
Consumed by a blaze that hurts more than not
Forget being reduced to dust
And lava flows in place of blood
Ignite what remains of thy soul
Smelt thy heart for drips of gold
For perhaps in ashes, I will be whole
With paper skin and matchstick bones
And ashen eyes and soot-stained soul
Kindled with your brimstone and coal
Nay no fool dare douse or blow
Away this love of gas and glow
This love of warmth
This love of pain
This love that engulfs, consumes
Takes"
