Hospital Stay

Feelings on paper often make them understood...but not always

The new day is upon us

The list is long to do

My eyes open slowly

Lovingly looking up at you

Pulling back the covers

Feet setting upon the floor

Rising to a stand

Moving to the door

Coffee water heating

Skillet warming through

Readying for the world

Thinking most of simply you

Shower gently warming

Sleepiness washing away

Dressing to perfection

Ready for the day

Spending time apart

The reasons are too few

The world is such a cruel old place

My serenity is in you

Entering the door

Back into our home

My heart smiles

To no longer be alone

Passing through the rooms

Coming into view

My heart sinks into sadness

At the very thought of you

Once again you are not here

The lonely house no friend

Staying at the doctors

Is there never any end

I know it will be better

When your health finally comes back

For now my heart breaks sadly 

As I feel a terrible lack

The phone bells jingle loudly

I move to answer quick

The voice upon the other end

Makes my smile stick

Though we have been apart

While the doctors keep you near

Despite my lonely times

I am glad that you are there

Getting better every day

To again come home to me

This time the solution found

For us both to be healthy

Although we are apart

For a time we simply must be

But one day all will be well

And you will come home to me....

I just simply come to home

The smile that is on your face

Just to see me there

Keeps my heart light happy

Brings your love more near.
