Deceptive Hope

Deceptive Hope

A Poem by Constance Payne
"

Mother Nature is one temperamental lady

"
The sunlight glistens
    off the sparkling white
flakes.  Deception is
Mother Natures forte.
She shows beauty with the illusion of
Warmth, yet the bite of the
Cold gives painful reminder that winter has Arrived.
Gladly, it is not here to stay,
simply visiting.
Giving sleep to the ground
gestation of the new life to come
as spring pushes forth
breaking the ice and snow as
heat warms the ground.  Green of Spring
Lovingly explodes with hope and newness.
Yet, coldness fills the air. Crisp and deceptive in its hope of what is to come.

This is really beautiful Constance I loved it really, the adverse doing of mother nature is shown so beautiful in lines,

"She shows beauty with the illusion
of
Warmth, yet the bite of the
Cold gives painful reminder that
winter has Arrived. "

This is a beautiful portrayal of nature and I also go crazy in winter...

Thank you. I love the seasons but winter hurts more the older I get.

Eventually the warmth of Greens kills all cold
But the bitter cold can shock the system all the while

looking at mother nature ..... how smart she is ....

Managing to balance all that is cold and warm
Without allowing any battles to break out

She tames it all

Beautiful poem Constance
Pure talent here .....

Thank you. I love the seasons but winter hurts more the older I get.
My father always said that you beat winter with the calendar. I love the images you paint here, Constance - the beauty, and the harshness - your poem is Nature's Truth!

Thank you. We have had such a screwy year this just seems to fit. I appreciate the read.
