This is Goodbye

They're the words I had to say,
muffled tears, the taste away. 
And now we stare, eyes to the face.
Stuff the fears of wasted days,
while we learn of our mistakes.

Again, the slow walk to the grave.
Still our scars can't forget this place.
The glow comes back, try to save.
The walk's too far, fall from grace,
from the swim of frozen lakes......
