Old Thoughts of Today

Old Thoughts of Today

A Poem by C.J.H.
"

2005

"

Falling apart in the waves,

In the waves of destructive tastes

Living dead ends of hair in the face

Shattered bounds of freedom encase

Nothing left to let go, mind if you know?

Know what I said it was done yesterday

Patience listens into the death of a way

A way I can stay away.

Peace is the last beat of the soul

Left breathless, ease into consumption

Drowning darkness, in an empty hole

Leveled with final assumptions

Dragged from the hope of freedom

Last chance of a smile forsaken

For the bed ridden at the bottom

Happiness is easy while I’m faking
