Thought You Should Know

Thought You Should Know

A Poem by C.J.H.
"

Unfinished work

"

As the sun grips these shades away, I'm ripped into a lucid reality, from which does not contain my name. There will be a simple walk to places, where there will be no faces and there will be no names. I'll ask what time it is, merely to muffle the groans of the city. There once was an annoyance we shared with the train, yet he doesn't come around much anymore. 'Maybe I should get up', and then I closed my eyes. Today is a random Monday on the map.

The door makes his rounds, as the knocking grows with intensity. Hoping for a flash of life in these veins, we studder towards the wonderous noises. I open my door to emptiness, which again does not suprise me. The rooms are all vacant on the third floor. At times, even I am a stranger. I should have left the door open to passing through, but hope is always extinguished.
