I would tell you

I would tell you

A Poem by Corset

Play the hand you've dealt,
just get your card of knowledge
If that's what's worrying you

We had names for the corresponding faces
Sad, angry, hurt,
but no words for our operative feelings
indulgence
was equal to expertise
experience was that
we called them
as we saw them
but it doesn't mean we were right...
just all too full of ourselves and
not nearly enough of someone else
nothing truly of what really mattered.

If we ever claw our way through this void
I would tell you that
what truly mattered
was...

The silent and understood "you" ( quite nailed it didn't ya?)
oh, AMEN!
Thinking only of ourselves, that is the problem....what truly matters is what we give, not what we take.
And the more we draw the knowledge card, the more we learn that, even if we do leave the table, broke.
masterful metaphor here, Corset.

Good Morning Jacob, thank you for your kind words.
The existential quandary seems to be stirring us towards finding the right question to ask. I have heard a few people mention this in the last few days, Elon Musk among them. Something in the water. A great philosophical write here, Corset:)
