Dark Odyssey

Dark Odyssey

A Poem by Corset

...to sleep beneath the boughs of behemoth
is a crushing weight,
and when loved you had no idea
beseeching me to understand
night after night
even after the night has all but
burned it's way through every memory
I will call and I will recall
 all of my life
(s)he is a power... a dark odyssey
you were my roof of prophesy
and I lost you.

We always lose the wild things, the darkest things.
"(s)he is a power... a dark odyssey
you were my roof of prophesy
and I lost you."
I loved the above lines. I could write a epic tale from them. Thank you dear Corset for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Thank you dear Corsett. Maybe I can find time to attempt.
I am not sure I could go any deeper than this....it's a heartbeat line. There is so much beauty and pain in this remembrance ...a time of time...the pictures touch around the edges and l barely breathe reading this! Superb!

Thank you Queenie.
Regret seems to be the primary theme of this one. I get the feeling the speaker expected too much of one beloved, who was unable to deliver and felt the worse for it. I also feel that the speaker is now looking back with understanding, taking responsibility for the loss at last.

Thank you John
"you were my roof of prophesy/ and i lost you"
love those two lines...the darkest odysseys are journeys backwards into loss...sleeping under the weight of life is like dropping anchor just outside of happiness.
