Wring it Dry

Wring it Dry

A Poem by Corset

Existential fireworks
68 year old
quintessential
fireworks
we got a visit from Ohio
we got god pulled over
Meth heads to the side
eating clown cakes
to see if you could see the difference
in the faces on the wall
or in love

We walked in here and you can read our thoughts
run away
hey guess what?
Do you know what comes back to haunt you?

Black haired women, now to the shadows
we physically own them
I want those sexy pajamas
I took your love acne
popping up every where
it scares the hell out of me,
our black silk curiosity.
I'm afraid I'll have to
give up everything I didn't want
because it's all I have and to have to start
a new one that
I didn't want.

we are all eating Raven for breakfast
you got us all wrong
years from now the camel humps
on the back
you've got a friend that you're still partners with...
there will always be one
who wants to off the BFF
but I still hear you from the hate block
waiting on the corner
till I wake up
turn on the days noise and wring it dry
shake it off,
snap out of it.

you know that old farm had a yellow kitchen for the longest time, I bet it's still yellow too, yello.. read more
this is one of the best poems i have read in ages...reminds me so much of the Beats, but with a current twist on the meth idea...on the acne popping up everywhere...yes, meth can do that, and the love for it...currently it is such a widespread problems...but your mention of Ohio, put me back to spring of '70 here at SIU, when we dealt with the riots over Kent State's shootings...and the war in NaM.
Four dead in Ohio...
and the hate block...well, we tried, and there was the Civil Rights Movement, but lately it has all seemed to backtrack.
it's like the speaker is reminiscing to a time past...one of movement and hope but is asking in the present, "where are we now?"
love it.
