Beyond

A Poem by Corset
"

Horse with War PaintWarrior Spirit... more Daniel Eskridge by Daniel Eskridge

"
Do you remember
 the cliff's edge

war waited beyond

the wind
waved black hair
 like a banner
at half mass
 feathered spears
red-handed
 painted Paint
withers and rump
16 hands of harbinger
carried swiftly to

a war waiting beyond

ritual and inevitable return
confidence or courage
do not say good-bye.
The nod says all.

Thank you! Hope life is treating you well, you should be a novelist :D
we see in many movies, the Native Americans talking little, showing actions speak louder than words.
They do nod...and that is enough communication...
even a look.
They didn't have tanks, bombs or any other type of weapon like we have today...
hands, bows, knives....and forced to use them because we came to this land and decided it was
ours, even though they were here first, shared with us and knew how to live off and with the land.
Shame on us...
If only we had their courage.

I agree Jacob, swindlers from the get go
To have the picture of the horse in mind while reading this gives this poem the perfect texture to compliment your words and the feelings that they produce. You are so expressive when you write, that is why it is such a joy to read you and every poem is worth the wait.
