Call of a Siren

Call of a Siren

A Poem by Cory Scott
"

Unfortunate sailors are lured by a siren

"
Oh stout-hearted sailors lost asea
Sail to me and I'll put your minds at ease
With my entrancing melodies
Pay heed to your hearts
For they know what they want
And when you open and allow your minds to see
Only then will you find your ways to me

"Precious rose, sweet rose
Uprooted by a breeze
Now awash in the seas
Take my hands and atop the waves
Dance with me
Take a chance and dance
Your woes away with me."

Oh stout-hearted sailors lost asea
Is that you I see sailing
Following the ocean breeze
Is that you I see sailing
So very near to me
Pay not a care to the squall
Pushing you towards that outcropping reef
Worry not of your hull
That has broken with ease
For here I am to greet you
In this cold ocean blue
Here I am to consume you
In my cold ocean blue

"Tender meat, sweet meat
Brought to me by the breeze
Allow me to grasp you
So that I may feed
Then you may all rest
Sailors so brave
Forever residing in your briny graves."
