Voewood.

Voewood.

A Poem by Cosmic Rainbow
"

My other half was the organiser of Voewood Festival 2014, a music and literary festival in Norfolk, as a musician he was also playing in 2 bands during the weekend. On the Sunday I found myself alone.

"

Lost in a garden of music and fame,

Alone and abandoned sits the girl with no name "

She patiently waits for the end of the day

And the love that was hers that was stolen away by

The vibe of a festival, guitars being strung,

A butterfly house and the beat of a drum.

The day feels dark as minutes tick past " dragging

With them the hours that fracture her heart "

And she sits " on the terrace of a stately home,

While its aura reminds her -

That again, she’s alone.

Familiar faces from stage and screen "

Pretending to hide yet desperate to be seen "

Waiting for a strangers hand held out to shake

And remind them they’re special, disguising the fake.

Watching in silence she patiently waits "

Nodding and smiling with the champagne and cake,

And nobody sees her "

She’s there for loves sake.

So she waits a bit longer for the end of the day, and

The love that was hers that was stolen away by

The vibe of a festival, guitars being strung, a

Butterfly house and the beat of a drum.
