A Posse ad Esse

A Posse ad Esse

A Poem by Hannah Stoner
"

For my love, Matthew.

"
From possibility to reality.
I asked you to set the world on fire with me,
and to this you agreed.

Now, the sky radiates with flames.
Stunning shades of orange reign hell on humanity,
and we are the only ones to blame.

The streets are laden with corpses,
Elegant ribbons of crimson signify our slaughter,
and we have yet to utilize all of our resources.

We'll diminish this drab world to nothing but ash,
From this nothingness, we will build ourselves an empire,
and we will leave the past in the past.
