Daddy's Love

I had a special place,
in my daddy's heart.
Never went one day
without a kiss and hug.

My daddy worked hard,
everyday of his life.
Provided everything
I would ever need.

I couldn't wait for him,
to come home and have lunch,
Would always ask mommy,
"When's daddy gonna get here?"

Daddy soon pulled in the driveway,
walk in with a smile and give a hug.
We'd talk for a few minutes, when
he picked me up in his strong arms.

After the day was finally through,
I'd start to climb the stairs, daddy
would stop me, wrap his arms
around me and kiss me goodnight.

Nine words spoken as I ran the
rest of the way up the stairs.
Daddy would say, "Night, Melanie,
love you, see you in the morning."

Of course, I would tell him,
" Love you, too, Daddy."
