Freely Trapped

Freely Trapped

A Poem by Courtney

The burning hot desire screams
As it's ripped from my aching chest
While salty waves of roaring streams
Arc down my cheeks in severed crests.

Itching tremors plague my fingers
And tap upon my idle hands
A rhythm of forgotten verse
In muted, dull and chordless strands

As I long for an old release
That, for years, fed my addiction.
I can feel my pumping veins cease;
Burst like a blister in the sun

And my world crashes around me.
Trapping me but setting me free.

Whoah, this is poetically profound! Powerful imagery and great musicality (which only gets a tad wonky in Stanza 3 Line 3). Well done!
