The Girl In The Distance

The Girl In The Distance

A Poem by Tom Robert Cowpey
"

A Short Narrative Poem

"
The wind carries her voice as she sings
it echoes through woodland and Forrest
trees overhanging, entwining of branches
the location is oh so romantic.

as she strums her guitar, oh so gently
she makes sure every note is correct
she caresses the neck
sliding from fret to fret
smiling, hiding the fact shes upset

she sings so quiet she whispers
with an emotional look in her eyes
she's the 'girl in the  distance'
standing with arms open wide
shes just
waiting
anticipating
 for the day
that hes stood by her side

untill then she continues
to play her guitar
in the park
of a warm summers night..

A lovely poem. It made me think of someone I know who plays her guitar but can't find the love she desperately wants
