She Remains

She Remains

A Poem by MMC
"

Losing a love

"
Darkness came and brought the shade,
Night fell and took the day away;
No starlights shine within the sky,
And the moon has never been more new.

Still and silence without peace,
Numbing pain with no release,
Naked and cold, halved from a whole,
My life isn't life without you.

Cloaken thief, calm and swift
Stole you from my arms and lips;
Far from reach, the blackness keeps
You from my love's embrace.

Years, like you, long since passed,
And passing time ebbs just as fast,
Each 'beat and breath inside my chest
Your ghost they can't displace.

This is a beautifully written poem, rich in tenderness and loving sentiments. You capture the essence of loss so very well with some perfect lines, like "Naked and cold, halved from a whole". Enjoyed this very much :)
