The Bad Dream Poet

The Bad Dream Poet

A Poem by Tamara (The Coy & Clear Poet)
"

It was written following a bad dream. In the end i had to tell all those in my life the shameful news. I was alone and broken. So this is the real story of me (with reference to the dream of course).

"

Round belly, barely,

Dreams crushed, very,

Another opportunity to be better,

Affirming, confirming,

New troubles, generations ago,

New daughter, generations past,

She grew colder, got a bit older,

She was known as fast,

New girl, generations ago,

She was daughter, not yet

mother,

known,

As...

Fast,

She sang as beautiful as she was,

Thought love was...

Thought she could love people,

Truly,

That they’d love her,

New girl, new mother,

1992 was a good year,

brand new daughter,

with problems of generations past behind her,

Disgusted and,

Amazed was her family,

That she,

Could not conform,

She knew conforming,

was confirming,

She rolled in her failures,

Aching bones,

Learned to stand,

Remembering she knew this in ‘92,

That life moves fast,

People grow,

Change,

Personalities, they’re everywhere,

Weighed down by pain,

The child is who she sees,

The latest image she meets,

The taller, deeper hurt,

Cold hearts,

Searching for a warmer one,

One that will give unaffected,

She knew,

That there were things in her,

Inherent,

apparent to cold hearts,

She covers up,

In christianity, skill,

She,

Covers up,

The child underneath,

You’d think isn’t too far away...

She’s a tall, brown, pillar,

Of change,

In a family she was always meant to change,

Pained people tired of lying faces with

Eyes that betray them,

Beautiful people underneath tradition,

She’s one of them,

She was born as they were,

But she escaped,

She ran from fear, & misunderstanding,

Into the arms of Christ!

...Right?

Wow! I am really flattered. I didn't know how it would go over with the christian content.
