Chaotically Calm

Chaotically Calm

A Poem by Adam Crate
"

An odd poem about love, perhaps.

"

Chaotic Lust is envying

The way that Calm resides

She envies how he sleeps in peace

While she rips up what is inside

It's woven in her weary nature

Quick to cause a fuss or mess

While Calm is waiting patiently

Chaotic Lust wants first and best

Their dancing always looks so odd

They never share a room

Chaotic Lust sidesteps at dawn

And Calm steps back in afternoon

Yet every motion they portray

Unfolds with grace and trust

They're dancing with their future ghosts

Calm holding his Chaotic Lust

Author's Note

Adam Crate
I wrote this poem a few days ago. I'm not exactly sure what it means; I started with the first line and let it expand naturally. I'm happy with what it has become. As always, I'm open to critiques / suggestions. Despite the abstract nature of most of my writing, I still try to put a relatable message in there.

Thanks for reading!
