Children of the Sea

Children of the Sea

A Poem by KL
"

Wrote whilst gazing out to an amazing sunrise on Little Corn Island, Nicaragua.

"

On a second sea
Black, uneven battleships
charge the electric front

Followed by a multitude
of rainbow colours;
Consistent in its natural
form.

No sounds, just sights
Setting suns blister on
the earth's edge
daring those who witness
to come and play
with battleships and rainbow
colours

It's an inexpensive lust
to chase gold,
to chase love,
to chase silhouettes behind
our backs--
Our phantoms sweeping
across center stage

An explosion of light
frightens even the
bravest

and the child of the ocean
knows a battles been won
as the sunchild
reveals
its
face.

Beautiful poem. You have painted lovely images here with your words. It must have been a very beautiful place and moment. I love the overall tone of this poem. The third and fourth stanzas really stood out to me.

Gorgeous, KL ... Loads of imagery throughout COTS ... The sun blistering the earth's edge is an outrageously awesome image ... And the ending is superb ... GREAT job! LLR

I best you were in a beautiful place. I spend a lot of time on the coastline of South and Central America. I could watch the sun fall into the sea for days. A beautiful story. Made me wish to find time and go to the coast somewhere. A outstanding poem.

This is absolutely perfect. I can visualize every part. From the child of the ocean to the sunchild. Brilliant.
