I do

I do

A Poem by Praveeta

I do

Dressed in white gown
Embellished with sequins
She walks down the aisle

Bouquet in her hand
She reaches the groom
Her appearance like a goddess

Union of two souls
Is witnessed at the altar
In cosmic presence

I once had a vision, not seeing in a dream, but basically an hallucination in which I married myself. Quite strange I must say, but unearthly beautiful. This poem reminds me of that. It takes me to the spiritual realm where what I perceived as reality was magnificent and divine. I could feel the cosmos auras around my body, for in it I was an embodiment of God. I was a part of that cosmos. It makes me wonder if when two souls get married in our world, if this embodiment is the true emotional state felt.

Wedding is always worth of great celebration! It's a miracle. Two souls, united, sanctified by marriage. Looking forward to my time to say "I do"... ;)

Nice poem, Praveeta. I love the last stanza.

It really is this simple and this "cosmic". Now, every moment of every day when the questions arise the answer must be, "I do"...
Very well done.

Thanks for the amazing review.
Profound and a delightful read! I envisioned so many different aspects of myself walking down the aisle which is scary since I am 16 but I do appreciate the passion and care you have for your friends wedding, I hope she'll like this just as much as I did !

That's a very nice gift. A poem for the bride. One to put in her wedding book and look at years from now.
