A Glimpse Into My Heart

This is a poem that I wrote for my boyfriend after we had a fight. The different parts were written to add suspense. When I first sent it to him, I sent it a part at a time.

A Glimpse Into My Heart

 

Part I

Sitting out in the freezing night air

Looking out as the rain hits the ground

Barely able to read the texts

As the tears build up in my eyes

Wanting so badly to take back words already spoke

But, sadly, we both know that isn’t possible

We are to the point where sorry simply is not enough

And I worry that goodbye is the only thing left

Please, don’t let that be true…

 

Part II

Then you tell me that you forgive me

With a smile at the end

That this time makes me burst into tears

You then ask me what is wrong

Unable to get it out any other way

I simply send you this poem

To let you know what’s on my mind

And just how much I don’t want to lose you…

 

Part III

With that you suddenly realize

That if the roles had been reversed

You would have reacted with the same hurt feelings

So once again we find ourselves even closer

As we do with each and everything that we do

Which brings a smile to my face

But all this makes me worry…

 

Part IV

I never want to live a day without you

That I am more sure of than anything

Our lives are intertwined;

Hearts beating as one

The only thing is that

I hate hurting  you like this…

 

Part V

We’ve gone through so much though

And I won’t let it end like this

That is simply something I cannot do

Because I don’t know what I’d do without you

Hopefully this has shown you…

 

Part VI

No matter how much s**t we go through,

I’m not gonna give up

Basically, you mean more to me than you’ll ever know

And I don’t know what I’d do without you…
