Two Little Birds

Two Little Birds

A Poem by Al R. Arce
"

Something to make you feel better!

"
Two little birds got together on a willow
It was sunny, a bit windy but alright.
One started singing a few notes light and bright
While the other looked at her with some concern.
Don't you know what's coming with the billows?
Will be cold, a bit cloudy with some rain.

Why you worry 'bout what's coming with the wind?
Now it's sunny, warm and cozy, sing with me!
Are you crazy seek some shelter you should flee!
This bird's crazy, gotta go she will learn.
But the wind got too strong she changed her mind.
I am stuck I will get wet with the coming rain.

The other bird just kept singing happily!
Driving crazy the fearful birdie beyond control.
As it started raining the happy bird went to a hole
That the willow had just hidden by a fern.
The other bird followed her with great haste
Both were dry and were safe from the rain.

How in the world did you know 'bout this hole?
You were singing, not concerned about the rain!
The bird answer, she explained 'bout her fein.
While it's sunny, warm and cozy I did learn
To prepare, to contrive for the rain!
So this bird wasn't crazy after all!

Two little birds got together on a willow
It was sunny, a bit windy but alright.
Both went singing a few notes light and bright
No more worries, no more trouble or concerns
They did know what was coming with the billows
They'd be dry, fine and cozy through the rain.

Author's Note

Al R. Arce
This is one of those where you start with the first sentence. I really wanted to write but had no idea what to do. The only thing I could think of we're the 2 birds. One started singing and little by little the story took shape. Just another example about a story taking over your creativity. Some times you are the instrument of the story. I really liked the cadence of the poem!

Such beautiful imagery. I love everything about this poem Gabriel, but most of all the wonderful feeling it left me with. Stunning writing my friend.

I agree, the cadence is great. The whole poem made me happy, no use worrying about what we can't change. Great write :)

No sense in worrying about that which we cannot control - take precautions, but enjoy the moment of now for all it offers. Well done.

We're all birds, aren't we? The rain will always come but that doesn't mean we should let that stop us from enjoying the sun.
