So much can seem 'stolen'. Hurt, pain, unrequited love given but not returned. Well, life is full of layers and chapters. The hope is to learn something in this life; to grow, mature, and become and as the saying goes...'become better not bitter. That is the battle I think.

I think you are right. My spirit has been broken in the past by a few, but eventually it restores itself. There is truth in that. However crushed we feel we should persevere. It is temporary. All good wishes Crosby.
