Won't You Fly With Me?

Won't You Fly With Me?

Won't you fly with me?
Won't you take off in the sky?
Can't you fly with me?

So I see you now,
Planted firmly to the ground,
Why won't you fly?
Why won't you break free?

There are lovelier places outside,
Outside of your gold leaf cage,
Out in the real world.

But still you isolate yourself,
You turn your back on me,
You don't listen.

Can you hear me now?
Screaming inside myself?
Crying?
Lying even to myself?

I guess I was never meant to break you out of that cage,
But, why not?
Why can't I break you free?

Am I held back by something?
My fear?
My hatred?
My love?

The underlying question is,
Won't you fly with me?
