Black Petals

Black Petals

A Poem by ` C u j i e
"

Loss is something all encounter. I hope this can offer some consolation for those who have to face the loss of someone who was loved very much.

"
On the grave,
there was a rose
with black petals,
placed in a loving pose.

On the grave,
there was a name
chiseled with care,
to know there was no pain.

On the grave,
there was a date
of birth and death,
a last notation to fate.

On the grave,
there was a bouquet
left in memory
of that final day.

On the grave,
there was a tear
burned into the stone
for all to hear.

On the grave,
there was a knife,
rusted and worn
to end all strife.

On the grave,
there was a dove,
perched for peace
and undying love.

On the grave,
there was a rose
with black petals,
wilting in a loving pose.
