Godafoss

Godafoss

A Poem by Wild Rose

                                                        Godafoss

Godafoss

The river full with Snow Melt

Flows full force

Bank high across the plain

Tumbling over rocks,

Forcing smaller ones out of its way

Rumbles, burbles, gurgles

it marches on

Non stop

Towards the cliff

It throws its self over

Into the chasm

With a thondrous noise

In a never ending stream

Tumbling

Foaming

It marches on

Carrying ships of foam

Across more country

Down more Cliffs

Racing towards its destiny

The wide deep open sea

Mother!

It looks like you may have posted this poem twice in a row & the ending may not be complete? Just wondering. But it's one of your best poems, despite this little hiccup. I love your dynamic crashing word choices to show the path of the water. Nice symbolism about how life itself can be like the river that simply crashes thru a situation without invitation! Love learning new words: Godafoss! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The flow and movement of water is such a powerful muse. One that always relays more than just the words express . Really gracefully done.

Great expressions! Reminded me of my many visits to Niagara falls. You’ve captured the magnificence excellently.

Thank you > i would say it was aweinspiring (A term I hardly ever use)
Isn't nature fantastic.
Sometimes you just can't comprehend the enormity of it.
I suppose in a way we're all that river heading out to sea.
