Life is a constant Battle

 

 

Struggling on our way

To meet targets

Or better things

 

Attending night school

Moving home

Slowly climb the ladder

 

Attain higher job

Retire from work

A new life begins

 

Time to fill

Try new hobbies

Take a cruise

 

Longer trip planned

No one goes for so long

We do and lots like us

 

Do you still drive

I'm only seventy

But I mean - So old

 

Wait until you get to my age

I'm still fit

Fitter than you

 

I am not going to sit watching the flower grow

I intend to enjoy life

You can sit and watch the flowers

 

If you want

Just don't expect me to join you

Until I am forced to do

 

Bye must go now to join the cruise

We struggle all our life to attain retirement and have hobbies and go on cruises. You paint an excellent picture of the struggle many of us go through; working late hours ,keeping up with the Jones' until all of a sudden we have to find things to keep us busy. Some people just lay on the couch and some retirees are still active and enjoy life. Well done! Bet, Betty

MM we went for some new specs
"You will have to wait another tree months"
We ar going on holiday driving and I need them now
"I have told you you have to wait - come back after your holiday"
We will be away for three months maybe more
"No one goes for three months"
We do and if you wont let me have an eye test today I amgoing down the street to one of the other opticians - I will send in a complaint
"You cant do thatshe is a highly qualified optician"
Three months later - three letters to make an appointment - I sent a letter of complaint

Told her we had spent £2000 at another opticians - with heading to show I was qualified to the main opticians level

I love to read the perspective of a life I'll never know, you may as well tell me about living on Mars. A lovely collection of words though, I always appreciate artistry. Gregor Mendel thought it was okay to watch flowers grow BTW.

It is really about the way people treat you
When I left school I was told "Boys like you cannot be electricians - you have to go to night school and do hard sums"
I went to night school & did the hard sums > Finished up as lecturer in instrumentation

We had booked a cruise > The firm went bust on Christmas Eve > luckily I hadn't paid the balance
We went on a six week camping tour of Iceland for the money instead
