Vaccinations

Email you are on the list for a covid vaccination

Select from th list of times and dates

List appears

We made our choice and entered it, entered it in my diary

"You will receive an email confirmation" they agree with our choice

We arrive on the day and find a parking spot

Get the wheel chair out

There is no ramp; only a high step

Take her out of the chair, then to a wall for Support, while I bring the chair.

At the door to the hall is another step

A marshal comes to help "I will take her from here, you cant come in, only one person"

I walk inside

"You cant come in"

"My appointment is before her, just let me take her I have all her details, in my pocket"

I take her inside

"Can I have your names please" "Date of birth" "Address"

"Take these forms with you"

Another marshal "I will take her through, you wait here"

"I am going for a jab as well, so I can take her"

"Wait here please" Pointing to a bar stuck on the floor "There is another person in already"

A person comes out

"I will take her in"

"I have come for a jab myself"

"Oh It may be alright for you to take her then"

Enter the room

"Oh a wheel chair, you are the first in a chair, are you with her, you can wait outside"

"I am here for a test as well, she brings her own chair, so you wont have to disinfect hers"

"Oh two together, that will save some time"

I stood up for the jab.

"Here are some details and a car to show you have had the jab, you will get a call to attend for the second jab by email,

They will keep you outside for fifteen minutes in case of problems, We have nothing to disinfect, Bye now"

Well the good news is you have both been vaccinated. A huge task for the government to coordinate. Pleased they have got the army in to deal with the logistics. Hopefully this will be our way out of a terrible year with the loss of many lives have been lost. I just arranged an appointment for my aunt who is 88. Will have to wait a while yet for mine, but it can't come soon enough. Happy New year Wild Rose.

I was in the Army. I received many unknown shots. The government does scare me. I don't know dear friend. Johnnie may skip this one. Hello and I hope you are doing well and staying safe.

Us soldier did this every time we deployed. I don't miss my friend.
What a real, raw look at what it is like to attempt to go to an appointment with someone. I've had a few appointments where I would've preferred some (emotional) help but was only allowed to have myself and the Dr. in the room. Cheers for getting the vaccine, and hope I can follow suit soon too.

And that is why we're called, Great Britain. Surprised there wasn't 10 civil servants with the proverbial forms in 50 languages relating to everything else apart from the vaccine. You'll laugh at this someday, Boris says so.

Bureaucracy gone mad! It's amazing isn't it! You can queue up at a GP's surgery have a flue jab without any fuss or palaver pull your sleeve down and leave. Simple!

This is a great way to show how these things go! You are so helpful for your wife & she is lucky to have you! You captured all the realities, annoyances, & the miracle of finally having vaccines for this curse that's swept the world for over a year! Thanks for putting me in the mindset of a situation I have not experienced yet! Here's hoping everything goes well & that you'll both be immune to any covid contamination soon! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
