A Poem by Zanna Rose

It's there, that thing I can't explain
it crawls closer, hurts my eyes to look
but somehow I can't look away
it's my own death, my shadow life
I fear it and rejoice in it
the glow of darkness passes over me
I hear them calling so far away
I can hold my breath for only so long
when will it pass?
The pit in my stomache grows
their cries coming closer
and I curl in to a position
only a small child ever knew
please find me, save me from this fear
this shadow life, my own death.

Very pleading poem, I can feel the earnest desire for comfort unrecieved. Very visual good work.

Interesting, though I am not sure how I feel about it. It is disturbing in it's imagery and yet beautiful at the same time.
