My One Regret

My One Regret

A Poem by Mazie

Let lay now sunk, that broken dream of hope

Though not intent, it fouled that cherished time

And pass the cross, let Villain fight to cope

Forever trapped by wicked wrongs of mine.

Let mem’ries fade and time to clear the slate

Of hardships past, and errors now erase

But etched in stone, those deeds of lover’s late

Forever burned, my memories now encase.

Though in the wound of ceaseless fie’ry strain,

Recall what good once came from better days

When deeds were birthed from love and selfless gain,

My will to hope, to right and change our ways...

That day, recall, and you I shan't forget,

Forgive me love: your pain’s my sole regret
