Yesterday

I wasn’t sure

what day it was

or who or whether

             I was meant to be

 

 

#2.

 

 

Today

there is

an even higher

               probability

of scattered showers

 

according to those

who notice such things

                   as a change

                   in the direction

                       of the wind

 

 

#3.

Dorothy

the Wicked Witches

(FYI, falling houses hurt)

                     and Toto, too

 

All of them

      thoroughly

      intrinsically

      some would say comically

                                 unprepared

 

Only

that sly Mary Poppins

seems to have an inkling

“I told you so,” she keeps saying

                                 or someone does

 

 

#4.

 

 

Whether I am 6 or 60

                         dead or alive

Whether I have had a mini-stroke

                                  a heart attack

                                  or a revelation

 

Whether I know

the current president

or find myself

living in some other moment

there is always a storm on the horizon

 

So I am stocking up

         on spoons and sugar

                           and ruby slippers

and scribbling notes to myself

                    on bright yellow Post-Its

Because

thanks to the Laws

             of the Conservation

             of E - N - E - R - G - Y

(Why? Because we love you!)

 

It would appear

   that being lost

is not really an option

whether I am flotsam

                  or even jetsam

 

Despite

subtle fluctuations

            in the Gulf Stream

and the distraction

of those pesky flying monkeys

 

 

#6.  And the forecast calls for...

 

 

Still

I am still

         here and now

I remain

a body in motion

You can't imagine how much I enjoyed this poem. Lol I really loved the play on the word whether. You really pulled of a really awesome write and its one that I would enjoy reading over and over. Keep up the amazingly good work.
