A Poem by Cybr
"

A reflection on where I am

"

Here thick warm night
takes you like a lover
when you step outside.

Here things are tiltd
light puddles at the bottom
of the thin moon
forcing a  new balance
now tightly tied to feet
Gives room for toes to grow

I remind myself it is not frightful
to balance on a chalk line
Only when they raise the wire
do you begin
to fear

Forget balance and wire
Coyote winks and tells you
only breathe
A child's game again

Here I choose not to fear.

Here, life is so fierce,
digging determined roots
through soil
powdered lunar limestone white
thrusting thick, probing stalks
dangling swollen seed pods

Here you do not die
until turkey vultures circle
graceful overhead

I love the way you word things and your description. My favorite part:
"I remind myself it is not frightful
to balance on a chalk line
Only when they raise the wire
do you begin
to fear"
How very true.
