Zombie (Revamped)

Zombie (Revamped)

A Poem by Pale Rose
"

Yeah I redid it. I hope it's better.

Cocked gun to my head

Finger on the trigger

Just an inch, half an inch

And this life is gone

One deep breath, one finger moves--

I stare down at this loaded death

And feel better knowing

One day, one twitch

It could all go

Away

Light flashes off the metal

Thin razor edge on my skin

Just an inch, half an inch

And this life is gone

One sharp exhale, one hand moves--

I stare down at this razorblade

And I feel better knowing

One day, one slice

Would take it all

Away

Wind blows past my ear

Feet right on the edge

Just an inch, half an inch

And this life is gone

One deep breath, two feet move--

I have a craving for Starbucks

But I feel better knowing

One day, one leap

It could all go

Away

But in my mind’s eye

I know the truth.

THE BULLET CRASHED THROUGH

THE BLOOD GUSHED OUT

I TUMBLED OVER INTO THE SKY

And my body's left to wonder why--
I put down the gun
I put back the razor
I stepped back from the edge

Why I just somehow...never did it.
