Untitled Summer Nights poetry

Untitled Summer Nights poetry

A Poem by D. Gabrielle Jensen

Sun sets,

Red, orange, fading

To the purple of night.

Heat still lingers,

Mixing with the smells

Of summer.

Beer and barbeque

And dust and hot asphalt.

Bird songs replaced

With chirrups of crickets

And music from car stereos.

Lawn chairs on patios

Occupied by friends

Enjoying one another

In the cooling night air.

Move to the grass

To watch the night bugs

And the stars.
