MICHAEL JACKSON OF POETRY

MICHAEL JACKSON OF POETRY

A Poem by DBURKE

When I grab my pen

I can see the spotlights pop on

Everything is silent

The world anticipates my words

I allow my pen to touch the blank palate

The palate a metaphor for the mind

The mind a metaphor for an audience

As expression flows

Excitement builds

The silence broken by the thoughts

Makes me moonwalk across lines

And throw my glitter glove in the air

As I have given it my best

Minds go wild

Another great performance

Different from the rest

Leaving eager minds

Starving for more

Encore!

I really like how you applied MJ's approach to the stage like a writer to the page!
