Red Pill Blue Pill

Red Pill Blue Pill

A Poem by DCT ponderings

The matrix awakened an ancient idea

I suppose for our youth to recall

What the Greeks always knew

the choice was their birth rite

Drink of the river Lethe

Walk the earth another time

Drink from the Mnemosyne

Live in Elysian Fields forever

I had to Google the movie reference; I never saw the Matrix...but I saw an episode of the BBC Sherlock Holmes series where some cab driver went box of frogs and made his fares choose between two pills...they took one and he took one and it was anybody's guess which pill would be the fatal one...Watson ended up sniping the guy through a window...it was pretty f*****g good. *blink blink* Oh yeah...your poem xD Sorry...great stuff, actually. "The choice was their birth rite..." Nice. Thanks for sharing this with us...

Oh, this is absolutely stunning! One of my favorite movies (watch it and rewatch it and rewatch it...it gets a little obsessive sometimes...lol), and the way that you brought it back to one of my other great loves, Greek mythology, is just brilliant. This is officially the best poem I have read today! Straight into the favorites and highest marks for you on this one!

One of my favorite movies, but I like the Greek story version just as well. The root of an idea that seems so intuitive and at the heart of every person's gut that it just might––– in some version of the idea, be true. We shall all see. Thank you for sharing this.
