Bright Star

Bright Star

A Poem by DCT ponderings
"

This is a tribute to Keats and the movie Bright Star

"

Breathe my chrysalides beauty

In the rhythm of your words

like the barest whiff of memory

you crack me open

Drawn between the lines of love

Inside the holiness of affections grace

I know I am real

I exist in our reflection

living an eternity inside your cadence

A heart beating out my name in whispers

between walls palms pressed

Upon butterfly's breathe

Floating atop the flowering treetops

Soul emboldened in your embrace

I will love you ever steadfast

we will become immortal

Oh, to be your bright Star

Thank you Brandon. Keats is utterly inspiring.
This was really nice. Love was definitely floating through this poem in a peaceful easy fashion. Like a gentle breeze this caught me and held me as I read. Very nice my friend.

What a lovely read. I love the use of alliteration here and the short, pointed lines. Well crafted and a sense of true capital R Romance.

Thank you Steve for a great review.
Beautiful and enchanting. I wouldn't be surprised if an angel had written it.

No just a flesh and blood hopeless romantic.
Have you ever seen the movie "Bright Star"? Fabulous movie about Keats and Fanny Brawn; cry like a baby every time I watch it. Anyway...the title brought me in. The piece was also not a disappointment. I was already in the mindset of the film, and of the ill-fated romance, and so this fit well with my frame of mind.

we will become immortal
Oh, to be your bright Star -- love these lines, and a perfect way to finish the piece. Well done!

I know, it is why your poetry speaks to me so clearly. ;)
Love the line 'soul emboldened in your embrace', this is a wonderful read. I think you meant 'upon butterflies breath'....just lovely.
