Midnight Lighter

Midnight Lighter

A Poem by Dan Leicht
"

Written with a short story type of narrative - although pretty short, even for a poem.

"

The midnight lighter is lost
Purchased in a stupor
Alongside cigarettes
From Nathan across the counter
Costing nothing more than conversation
Said it's been a dull night
Enjoyed my humor

Last seen sitting alongside a book of short stories
The latest author to intrigue
The newest view on life
An author with a life of failed marriages
But something poetic resides
Something missing from what's become mundane
