Carefully

Carefully

A Poem by Sarah Jane

I've been following your tone like an emergency broadcast
Watching your walk like a game of charades
Memorizing your eyes like a last goodbye
Listening for your breaths like an ominous night
Observing your hands like they're works of art
I've been reading your lips like the morning paper
