Moonstone Earring Triangle

Moonstone Earring Triangle

A Poem by DAH
"

she blends human with ocean with shells

"

The engaging southern light

above winter’s rip,

fiberglass clouds

hardened with ice

Chimney smoke,

lighter than December’s gray.

Moonstone Beach,

waves peeling like wallpaper

Assuring myself

it’s not thundering,

I look for lightning,

only to hear the sea’s tuba

I watch sunrise setting fire

to foggy scenes,

wet sand sucks my feet.

A lone earring, buried

beneath the breakers

A woman, yogi, forms Triangle.

Covered in mist, she blends

human with ocean with shells.

Straight up, her left arm

gathers moisture

The woman moves into Mountain

fingers plugged into blue,

her eyes, fixed with solar beams,

remembering …

WOW! 'waves peeling like wallpaper' and 'I look for lightning, only to hear the sea’s tuba' are my favorite. I am transported in these words, to a beautiful overcast beach filled with mysticism in a mist of gray and blue. Thank you, DAH,
Willoby

love the wallpaper image...terrific personification in this...you make everything come so alive...
as Brandy sang.."my life my love and my lady is the sea"
she is beautiful...and the lone earring....she is still looking for her other, perhaps the reader might help her look.

This is as good a poem about a walk on the beach as I have read. The scene is set perfectly. I know it's not summer. There's a coldness in the air, being December, but it is not completely freezing...smoke rises form chimneys, but it is still warm enough for a woman to do yoga on the beach. A fantastic line here, 'Covered in mist, she blends human with ocean with shells.'
Having spent many years travelling to the Outer Banks on vacations...in fact, returning next month...
many of your lines resonate...thinking 'I watch sunrise setting fire to foggy scenes'. I am envious.

A very good write, DAH
