128 Lines of Life - The Last 64 (Poem)A Poem by Damien DavisonThe last 16 stanzas of the 32 stanza progression of life...Thanks to older siblings And friends in junior high school They're higher than the ceiling Following, conforming to what's cool Sex is introduced at such a young age Give them access to the Internet Can watch it all day Start the partying While watching grades slip, their falling How to solve it Their own way you're not involved with Setting deadlines to be home tonight At a certain time Though kids fight Against rules, mom It's life's ride It's finally here This is where the grades count Wishing they would try harder Maintain on the same route Without any foresight That the kids life would untie F**k right They'd rather party hard, late night Having sex, spreading minor infections And their getting slammed, puking drunk Won't learn a lesson Some will grow outta testing Others experimenting Till they find a drug that they can't ignore And there goes your best thing They should've made the decision To handle heat in the kitchen Mature and make the right choice See they life they'd be missing But they've been wasting and chasing A dragon, no motivation Can't hold a good conversation Feeling like no one's relating But what they don't get The drugs hold you back mentally When you start it, the drugs cloud the way Hard to see Wasted cause hollow They're trying to fill a void drugs created Taste it and swallow Got to change your life, awfully weighted Addicted to the pain To the struggle To the worst things in life Lost it all, at the bottom Never changed, still ignites Full of regrets, what if he(/she) took the steps To put down all this toxic s**t And touch it never again But it's too late, he's too old And he's done this all alone There's no family anymore Dad has died, mom has soared Now the wrinkles on the surface Reflect the pain He's(/She's) hurting As he shoots it up for the last time His heart burns...
