Blurred Lines

Blurred Lines

A Poem by Daniel Affsprung
"

Why is the alteration of nature so important in the modern day

"

Are we the men who grow up to put stars in the sky?

To paint the land with the colors we eat and drink.

The clouds spite our towers, dry them.

The Sun spites our gleaming electric hive-mind, darken it.

And is it not the truth:

The voice of the child rings out

And brings tears to the tired eyes of his mother,

That she cannot understand.

His naive and crippling thought, new, terrifying,

Flies into the dry cabin of the airplane

Clouds listening, an audience of inspiration.

Passengers young and rich, dead and dying

Mommy, when I grow up I want to be God.
