A Poem by dangerbooze
"

Ever had your mind wander while you waited for sleep?

"
Many things cross my mind as I lay in bed. Curled up on my side...blankets pushed to the floor. Useless really...I'll pick it up again soon enough.
I cannot see the stars tonight. Too lazy to move aside the curtain...far too much effort to roll over closer to the window. Is that a breeze I feel? A yawn seems so loud in the night's utter silence.
Utter. Like a cow? Possibly. Cows are probably sleeping better than I am. Than we are. We? Well someone else must be reading this at an ungodly hour. Ungodly...they say cleanliness is close to godliness, so does ungodly mean unclean? Dirty. A chuckle, so very much like a crunchy taco.
Oh, my. I suppose I am hungry. Or it really is that late. Egad, it's nearly three! Why can't time go in reverse? Much more sleep if it was only two.
Ah, my legs are so smooth. Oh! That's why they must call it Venus. That whole "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" spiel. Because we womenfolk use Venus razors. ...why don't men use Mars razors? It makes perfect sense now!
Imperfect sense now that my eyes begin to droop. Droop. What kind of word is droop? Use that in a sentence, please! "The flower began to droop." I still don't understand that word.
My God, what is that! A dark, dreary shadow comes forth from the blackness to wrought the land with fear and suffering! Or it could just be the shadow of a tree on my wall. Ah, paranoia.
Ah! What's that I hear? Some whispered melody on a breeze? Yes, yes. Sleep sings to me.
Such a sweet lullaby...

Goodnight readers! I am off to bed now, so please don't judge too harshly. Sleep deprivation can make things...different.

About
I'm a lazy writer. I write what I feel when I feel like it. But to be more specific, I have a constant case of writer's block about pretty much every thought that I can think of or even consider. .. more..
