My God

My God

A Poem by Danique

Everyone believes in their own way.

My God tells me the world is special,

My God tells me live is a gift,

My God tells me it’s okay to cry,

My God tells me it’s okay that people have a face lift.

My God says the world is small,

My God says we should care more about each other,

My God says that people forget that their home is about to be destroyed,

My God says it’s fine if you have a little discussion with your mother.

My God knows how the past went,

My God knows how the future will be,

My God knows what the world will become,

My God knows what I used to see.

My God thinks people care to much,

My God thinks everyone is just the same,

My God thinks the world needs no more war,

My God thinks people are a shame.

My God is just normal like you and me,

My God is just a person I trust,

My God is not the god you believe in,

My God is nothing more for you then dust.

What is God without a conscience to acknowledge it, or what is conscience without God to watch over it, but just pomposity, fake adoration or only an illusion?
